There has been a great deal of sniping and bitching within the Linux user community as to whether KDE or GNOME is the better desktop shell,

In a lot of ways, it's very similar to AIM, but the interface is simpler, somewhat easier to maneuver through and if your system supports Unicode, you'll

- BlueDomino.com - whatever my private loyalties for XO.com may be, I am EXTREMELY grateful to the people at BlueDomino.com
for offering the generous kind of 500MB space allotment that has allowed this website to become a reality. I also received free software for signing up
with quarterly payments and I can personally vouch for the professionalism and care that have been extended to me by the tech support and sales departments
at this hosting service. Also, their content policies are quite clearly stated and easy to live with.
- FortuneCity.com - for the small business and personal designer looking to make a quick entry into the Internet,
without having to become an IT expert beforehand, FortuneCity is one the oldest and best providers of packaged hosting services you could find anywhere.
- HostGo.com - from high-end dedicated servers running on Cobalt or NT boxes to very reasonably priced basic starter
kits for the newbie Internet entrepeneur, HostGo.com offers a wide range of services and facilities for just about any business need.
- Lycos.com - personalize your web experience with whatever suits your needs. If it's auctions, MP3 files, a new job
or the latest information on why Osama Bin Laden is Stinky Public Enemy #1 that you're looking for, Lycos is one damn fine place to start your search.
- NetworkSolutions.com - when the Internet was privatized back in 1996, NetworkSolutions was given
the responsibility of handling all the domain name registrations. Some would say it's been a bit of mixed blessing. But there are few places where you can
go for one-stop domain name registration and hosting services like this one. Their online net and email management services are perfectly tailored to the
individual user and small business who are looking to maximize their web presence without having to spend months learning all the ins and outs of website
management.
- Register.com - when the time came in 1999 to finally make the jump and register ZenZenPup.com as my domain
name, Register.com is where I decided to go to get the whole process started. I was very happy with the way and the speed with which they got me
up and running. The referral they provided me with for a separate hosting service (not the one I'm on now) showed that they really knew how get a newcomer
started off on the right foot.
- Tripod - part of the Lycos web network. Build your own website within a community that is guaranteed to garner
attention, traffic and quite possibly $$$
- XO.com - the most professionally organized web hosting service I've seen in the last 4 years. ZenZenPup.com was
first located on their service when I registered it in 1999. The only reason that I moved the site to its current provider was that BlueDomino.com
offered "unlimited" traffic and storage space. With a website that has grown from 3MB to almost 500MB in the last 4 years, that is not an offer
I could afford to pass up...
- Yahoo! Geocities - for the budget-minded webmaster, there are 3 plans for anyone wanting to get themselves noticed.
For as little as $4.95/8.95/11.95 a month, you can have your own domain name, 25~50MB of online storage space and a host of other features you might not
expect for such a small price. Your website can be as distinctive as your talents will allow.
